Homeward bound!
The last day of our wee holiday dawned bright and sunny too! So boo sucks to those people who told us we'd never see the top of Mt Taranaki - that's 3 days in a row!!!
We started the day with a delicious fry-up cooked by the boys and eaten at a shady picnic table in our pretty green valley!
Then we set off on the long journey home, driving along the coast road all the way to check out the many pretty beaches. Oakura Beach was a beautiful long volcanic beach, full of people enjoying their summer holidays: kite-surfing, frisbeeing, building sand castles and boogie-boarding. Although the sand was black, it was really sparkly and pretty!
It was very sad to see Mount Taranaki finally fade from sight as we headed back to Wellington and work but we had a brilliant time exploring a whole new corner of New Zealand and introducing London kids Darren and Emete to mountain-climbing - they lavved it!
